Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie cover imageCan you imagine being a teenager and having to grow up with your younger brother having cancer? well Steven Alper does. One morning Jeff (the younger brother) fell and almost broke his nose. He was bleeding uncontrollably and therefore his mom brought him to the hospital. There they found out that he had cancer. Steven lets this build up inside him and he doesn’t want anything to do with anybody. Eventually he ends up with no friends and fails some of his classes. The only thing that calms him down is playing the drums. Some how everyone  finds out about his brother’s condition and and they all feel bad for him. Steven has many more problems that he will have to deal with. I recommend this book for any teenager going through a problem like this or just looking for a good book.

  1. I really liked this book. Even though it was a little sad it was a great life lesson to me. And that life lesson is to always be caring to everyone. I love Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by: John Sonnenblick.
